Disk Full Error

Hi,
I'm hosting my domain with www.penguinhost.net, I suddenly stopped being able to upload files using FTP. I keep getting error message (553 Disk full - please upload later). I can upload using CPanel's File Manager but not through FTP. penguinhost's support sucks. I submitted a ticket three times during the last two days. First time they deleted my ticket after 8 hours without anyreason. Second time they closed it without solving the problem. Now for the third time it's been there for 6 hours and nobody answered.

I just noticed something in server status:

Disk sda8 (/home) 90 %

Could this be the problem?

Yeah, it's a pain to switch hosts. But support blowing you off is pretty bad, especially since this is a serious issue that is server wide. A company like that probably won't be in business long, anyway, so you'd probably better start looking.

If you have control over your domain name, then switching to another cpanel host would be pretty painless.

I didn't know it was possible to fill up the /home directories in this day and age, LOL. Your host should definately be looking into the issue you have. With only that small amount of space left it can lead to stability issues with the server.

I think so. I've only ever done it with root password, though. The cpanel account transfer will copy all your mailboxes, but I don't know about forwarders and autoresponders.

If you egt above error

Disk is full please upload later

Please do following stpes.

1) Login into whm
2) Click on Ftp configuration option which is present at service configuration function.
3) Current ftp = pure_ftpd then switched into proftpd and check the error.
4) If error solved then rest the proftpd conf as it is. If not then do following step
5) Again switch ftp server from proftpd to pure_ftpd (It will fix your problem 100%)

Note: - If you will get error in switched ftp server please switched on old then it will not create any problem.
