DNS help needed - just hosting site on my server

Hi

the nameservers are running elsewhere - so having set up the account to use the registrars nameserver on my box I got the admin to set the DNS www requests onto my ip address - but I just got an apache homepage.

I gave the site it's own IP address - got him to change the DNS settings to the new address and the site runs now, but ends up showing the IP address instead of the domain.

Also, I'm unable to park any domains on top of the site...

What am I doing wrong?
