    Default DNS problem?

Yesterday, I added an account for a customer who wanted his new domain to point to his existing one.

Then I tried to park newdomain.com on top of existingdomain.com - I couldn't do it because a DNS entry existed for newdomain.com, so I removed that and it worked fine.

Then, the customer decided he wanted newdomain.com to point to existingdomain.com/folder

    So, what I did was:

    Unpark the domains
Added a DNS zone (the main shared IP) to newdomain.com
set-up redirects via the newdomain.com control panel.

Now, when I type - http://www.newdomain.com it redirects perfectly to existingdomain.com/folder, but without the 'www', I'm just getting an Apache page.

I hope that makes sense, and if anyone could offer some advice, I'd appreciate it.

    thanks

    Andrew

    Hmmm.

I followed this up by deleting the domain from my master WHM, and deleting the DNS zone for the domain.

The domain was then re-created via my own reseller account.

All the DNS info looks the same as all the other domains, but now I can't access the domain with or without the 'www'. It just times out.

However, I can see it via http://serverIP/~username

    Totally confused now.

Now, I can access using www.domain.com, but not just domain.com (I get the Apache page).

    Does anyone know why?

domain.com is the addon? It's probably the httpd.conf entry.
