DNS service status unclear, conflicting status

I'm running WHM 11.24.2 current on CentOS5 but am getting conflicting dns status messages. If I check the dns server status via whm its listed as named (9.3.4-P1) failed but if I restart bind via console its listed as staring ok and running "rndc status" I get a message saying server is up & running.


Which input is telling me the correct info and how do I make sure both will tell me the correct info in the future

Try disabling monitoring for Named in WHM -> Service Configuration -> Service Manager. Immediately after doing that, re-enable monitoring for Named in Service Manager.
