DNS Wildcard

I need to setup DNS wildcard on a domain name but I can't get it to work.

I have edited the DNS entry:

* 14400 IN A IP.IP.IP.IP

I have edited the ServerAlias:

ServerAlias *.mydomain.com

I have restarted named and httpd

Still doesn't work though. Any help please??? Thx.

We were about to do the same for a customer. We'd love to know if this actually won't work before we go through the trouble.

What I posted above never worked for me. I checked over and over to make sure it was right. I also tried putting *.domain.com instead of just * but still it wouldn't work.

From what I can see, I've done everything right.

We went ahead and did it and it worked fine. cPanel already puts the *.domain.tld entry on the ServerAlias line in the httpd.conf, so all we had to do was add the wildcard DNS entry to the zone file. After doing so, everything worked as expected.
