    Default DNS Zone Edit

With the new 8,5 egde build 9 there is a bug. When editing a dns zone if edit one if the existing fields of the zone and save it does save edit reverts back to original, also when save it is selected return page gives you page not found. We downgradeed to stable and zone edit works but stable has same program with page not found error, so find ourselves going back and forth between edge and stable

Downgrading to Release 91 allowed me to make my edits.

I submitted a ticket so they are aware of the bug.

I am still receiving the error message: near '': bad dotted quad after every attempted DNS edit, even after running upcp. Here is the interesting thing: I can update the records on the *secondary* DNS server, which propogates successfully to the primary DNS server, but I can not edit directly on the primary! Both are running WHM 8.5.1 cPanel 8.5.3-S3, RedHat 8.0

    Thanks.

Alas; restarting cpanel fixes the problem. Sorry to waste folks' time! I'm still one of those obnoxious newbies.

    Note....
upgraded again to R7 and the errors came back.

I noticed in /var/named/ that some files were owned by root, others by named. odd.

    But, neither worked (owners).

The service cpanel stop /start did the trick though.

Until a permanent fix is found, don't pull out your hair....

    SSH
    service cpanel stop
    service cpanel start

    fixed.

Had same problem here. Restarting cPanel also worked.
