    Default dnsonly update - cpanellogd

I have a couple of dnsonly servers that started sending error e-mails after (I assume) making automated updates. Right now they show as "WHM 11.25.0 - X 3.9".

I'm getting these every 5 minutes:
cpanellogd failed @ Wed Apr 14 00:23:00 2010. A restart was attempted automagically.
    Service Check Method: [check command]

Cmd Service Check Raw Output: cpanellogd is not running
    Any recommendations for a fix?

    Thanks,
    James

I tried manually forcing the upgrade (from WHM) but that hasn't fixed the problem.

    Just got this interesting e-mail:

    Cron <root@dns03> /scripts/mailman_chown_archives

/bin/sh: /scripts/mailman_chown_archives: /usr/local/bin/perl: bad interpreter: No such file or directory

Same here every 5 minutes after upgraded today from
    11.25.0-RELEASE_44675 to 11.25.0-RELEASE_44718

    /scripts/upcp and switch to 11.25.0-STABLE 44718 doesn't helped much.

I turned on cPanel Software RollBack in Tweak Settings, but I doesn't find, how can I rollback to 44675.

    Thanks,
    Zsolt

A solution may be to run 'touch /etc/cpanellogddisable'
as I couldn't find /usr/local/cpanel/cpanellogd on DNSOnly system.

My normal cPanel install (not dnsonly) is also affected. Same messages...

Please ignore these notifications for now. cpanellogd shouldn't be running and doesn't even exist on a DNS Only server. The check can be manually removed from the chkservd configuration, but will likely be re-added on the next nightly update. This bug has been reported to development.

    To remove from chksrvd:

    - Remove 'cpanellogd:1' from /etc/chkserv.d/chkservd.conf
    - Delete /etc/chkserv.d/cpanellogd
    - Delete /var/run/chkserv.d/cpanellogd
    - Touch /etc/cpanellogddisable
    - Run /scripts/restartsrv_tailwatchd

Also 11.25.0-DNSONLY_44778 has just been released so I guess it's fixed in that version.

Try this as there is an error in there:

    - Delete /var/run/chkservd/cpanellogd

Any official word from cPanel about this issue?

Now I've got 3 servers sending out the e-mails every 5 minutes.

@JamesAB: BUILD 44718 has in it's changelog that this issue was addressed

    Stable 44718

Ensured cpanellogd is not monitored for DNSONLY
    Ensure you're up-to-date: /scripts/upcp

One thing to be aware of, cPanel seems to be putting duplicate entries in the chksrvd.conf file for cpanellogd so make sure you remove them all. Its also doing the same for cpsrvd which has stopped running for me after the update. I have a ticket open with cPanel on the matter.

It's still a problem with dnsonly.

I tried normal upgrades and I tried forcing the upgrades. I'm still getting the "cpanellogd" error e-mails.
