Does CPanel change my Awstats config?

I've customized some of the default parameters of awstats in every awstats.conf file of the subdomains in my site (modifyin awstats.subdomain.conf)
But when I've look in these conf files I've notice that all modifications were eliminated, and I have the old conf files.
Why CPanel changed my modifications? and how can I avoid it?
