    Default eAccelerator question

    Today when I opened my php.ini I do see that there is some conf for eaccelerator already there.

    But when I go to the /tmp/eaccelerator I dont see anything there. Am I missing something here? Do I need to turn on the eaccelerator or is it already on?

    Code:
    extension="eaccelerator.so"
    eaccelerator.shm_size="16"
    eaccelerator.cache_dir="/tmp/eaccelerator"
    eaccelerator.enable="1"
    eaccelerator.optimizer="1"
    eaccelerator.check_mtime="1"
    eaccelerator.debug="0"
    eaccelerator.filter=""
    eaccelerator.shm_max="0"
    eaccelerator.shm_ttl="0"
    eaccelerator.shm_prune_period="0"
    eaccelerator.shm_only="0"
    eaccelerator.compress="1"
    eaccelerator.compress_level="9"
    extension="suhosin.so"
    extension="suhosin.so"

    Did you select eAccelerator when compiling Apache in EasyApache?

    Is it enabled in httpd.conf?

    Are you running SuPHP or phpSuExec (If so, forget eAccelerator)

    Via root SSH access, please let us know what output is provided by the following commands:
    Code:
    # /usr/local/cpanel/bin/rebuild_phpconf --current
    # /scripts/phpextensionmgr status eAccelerator
    # stat /usr/local/lib/php/extensions/*/eaccelerator.so
    # stat /usr/local/php4/lib/php/extensions/*/eaccelerator.so

    As a precaution, I would remove one of the duplicate entries for suhosin; there should only be one of the following two lines:
    Code:
    extension="suhosin.so"
    extension="suhosin.so"
    Is eAccelerator listed as one of the loaded modules via the following command?
    Code:
    # /usr/local/bin/php -m
    If it's loaded and the PHP handler is DSO then it should be working. For information on the specific configuration directives and how they may be customized I recommend referring to the official web site for eAccerator as linked below:
    eAccelerator - Trac
    Settings - eAccelerator - Trac
