easyapache rebuild failed

trying to rebuild apache with curl support and I get this error

!! No method to auto repair package system !!

I followed the link, it says to troubleshoot the OS's update software.

I have been trying to install packages with yum, but get this error

root@server [~]# yum install php-curl
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror

No package php-curl available.
Nothing to do

what is wrong with my yum, I ran yum clean all the other day, does that have something to do with this?

Perhaps you are using php 5.
Try using this command instead:

yum install php5-curl

I tried php-curl and php5-curl...

I did a basic easyapache rebuild, then I did an easyapache rebuild with all the settings I need and it worked...

not sure what the problem was
