edit cPanel contact email via SSH

Hi,
Is there anyway the contact e-mail used by cPanel can changed via SSH? The reason being, we have a server not presently being used (decomissioned) and it keeps sending out error e-mails .. which ofcourse we want to stop totally by removing the contact e-mail that was configured on cPanel when the server was in use.

Any help will be much appreciated.

In ssh
cd /var/cpanel/users
edit the desired username
- remove the email address from
"CONTACTEMAIL="
and/or the
"CONTACTEMAIL2=" line.

run "/scripts/updateuserdomains" after to rebuild the cache

You need to edit the /home/USER/.cpanel/contactinfo file as well. They are kept in both places for fast lookups
