Default Editor that shows line numbers in opened files ssh?

I'm using pico. Yesterday apache failed. I did a tail and it told that I should go to line 9000 something in httpd.conf. I don't see any line numbers in pico. Is there a better tool than pico which shows line numbers in an opened file?

    Thanks
    John

You can click Control and C to view the current line number in Pico.

You can also hit CTRL+W and then CTRL+T to get to enter linenumber to go to.
