Default Email forwarder issue (BUG?) - causing reverse DNS failure

A problem has just appeared on a server we've run smoothly for the past few years, and which hasn't previously exhibited this issue.

    Here's the deal:

A user configures an email 'forward' from his Control Panel. Any email handled by this forwarder apparently shows the static Planet IP address, rather than the fully-qualified name of the server.

For example, mail sent directly from this server shows it as originating from:

    Received: from [69.93.217.34] (helo=enterprise.cahabahosting.com)

Which is correct and allows this mail to pass reverseDNS and A record checks.

However, mail sent automatically as a result of an email forward, configured from Control Panel, shows it originating as:

    22.d9.5d45.static.theplanet.com

which of course fails reverse DNS tests:

Cannot resolve A record for 22.d9.5d45.static.theplanet.com

Any idea how to resolve this new issue?

Is this a bug in the email 'forward' feature of Control Panel?

This particular server is running WHM 11.23.2 cPanel 11.23.6-S27698

    Thanks in advance! // Bill

As a follow up -- Easy fix is to have the provider simply establish a PTR record for the particular subdomain IP address to reflect the name of the server.

This doesn't address the fact the Control panel email forwarders apparently don't reflect the fully-qualified name of the server ... I wonder why?
