I have tried the fixes above but still get this error when trying to add my A records for the DNS.
    Code:
Adding an A entry for nameserver ns1.domain.com

Anyone have a clue on how to solve this issue? Or is it normal?

No not normal. Your zone files won't be updated until this issue is fixed. Assume you have searched this forum and tried the available fixes? Looks like you are running RH9?

I have ran multiple fixes through out this forum. I am running fedora core 2. Nothing has seemed to help.

Here is an older thread from WHT. Short of seeing your config files directly this thread may give you some trouble shooting options to try.

Thanks found a little note on there.... this is what fixed it...

If you are using Fedora you should also nano /etc/sysconfig/named and comment out the 'ROOTDIR=' (put a # in front of it)
    All is better now...

Not sure but do you think it could have something to do with the following??? near 'root.tcpipinc..servermatrix.com.': empty label
That was the name that the server company gave the box. I have had them change the name of the box to wh2.tcpip-inc.com but I see that it still shows up here as root.tcpipinc..servermatrix.com
