    Default error_log in user's public_html directory

since last update I see in each user's public_html directory an "error_log" file that keeps growing taking up user's space. In cpanel there is no option for user to emty the file. Each day users call to complain about the space.

how to disable keeping that file there and not to be count in user's name?

beside there are statistics that lately cannot be disable in cpanel by each user now we have this. is kind of har to explain to the user that yes.. he got 100mb space but he can only use 2

Shouldn't be too hard to explain that if you have a 98MB error_log you got more problems than running out of space I would think.

IIRC, those are php error log files, not apache ones. Not sure, but do they only appear with phpsuexec enabled? I would imagine there's a php.ini directive to switch them off (not too hot on php I'm afraid).

Anything that's causing errors on the server is your problem too. Why not look at the errors and assist him to solve the problems instead of ignoring them by turning off logs.

because i cannot keep searching each user's public_html to see what errors do they have in their website and fix it. that's why a user can see error_log in his cpanel.

all I want is that file not to be counted on user's account.

In that cause they need to fix the php errors that their php scripts are generating. It's entirely a user issue.
