Default ETA for 11.24 in Release?

Is there any ETA for when 11.24 will be moved to the Release branch? This appears to be kind of a "biggie" release so we may want to turn off automatic updates and let it roll in on a weekend.

    Thanks

There is no ETA at this time. However it will probably be about 2-3+ weeks after 11.24.1 is in EDGE. In the past it has been as long as 8 weeks.

I see that 11.24-1 was released in Edge over the weekend. Can you "refine" the ETA for Release a bit now?

11.24-1 has been in edge and current for quite a while. Any eta on Release? We're just looking for an approximate date for planning purposes.

You're so impatient. IF you want to use it so badly, run the CURRENT branch rather than bugging every few weeks if theres an ETA yet..

We don't want to install it immediately (as per my original post). We want to disable automatic updates and let it roll in over a weekend in a controlled manner. It's just a pain to have to check layer2 every day.

Hehe.. We never turn automatic updates on anyways - its safer that way. Why not just turn them off and update once a week or so, you can even enable security updates without having to update the whole install. I don't think you can really put an ETA, due to the fact there will be finding heaps of bugs in the current, as you can possibly see from the forums atm...

The more you bug about it the longer they will take to release

We are hoping to have RELEASE out by the end of the month, however the upcoming holiday may cause that to be the beginning of next month.

Is it possible to somehow know what updates are doing before hand in a better manner? RSS for updates maybe? Roll out dates? "This is what you'll get when you click the update button"? Something...

cPanel's blog usual just tells us what's coming, not what I'm about to update to, and rather than (as above) go through all the change logs to work out if we're expecting trouble?

At this stage I've got a few servers, all set to manual updates that we preform on weekends after first doing a test on a dummy system.

It's expensive to run another license just for that purpose.

For the update to 11.24 in particular, you can review the following website:

    http://www.cpanel.net/products/cpwhm...w-features.htm

For technical details of what's new in 11.24 overall, refer to the Release Notes.

We also have RSS feeds for our changelog, which are available at:

    http://changelog.cPanel.net

To monitor only a specific build, select that build from the drop-down menu at the top of the page. Then the link in the top-right corner of the page will change to only provide you with updates for that build.

Thanks David! This is certainly better than what I was previously doing - but the feed doesn't seem to be working properly for me in FireFox. Probably because FireFox has never dealt with feeds right.

I'm sure I can take the feed once a day and have it email me or something similar to work out what's happening. Thanks for the info!

Please read the release notes in tandem with the change log. There are more details in the release notes about changes in 11.24 than in the change log.

Obsoletely. But I'm looking at all updates - not just 11.24 in particular.
    Cheers Kenneth.
