Exim Broke Down!

a client called me asking about the mail system not working..

I checked but found out that there is not /etc/exim.conf anymore! not there.

anyhow I created another one from WHM

I have latest cpanel release I think 89

I had cpanel pro and clamav installed as addons but I uninstalled them and diabled the smtp tweak

still the problem is there

it looks like it is looking for a perl subroutine that is can not find!!!

can anyone explain this to me please...

I found our that /etc/exim.pl

has been zeroed out and there is teh contents of it:

1;

thats all!! what the heck happened!!!!!!!!!

why

thank god I had another cpanel server I quickly copy the file from there.

the mail is back to normal!

No idea. But if you see that again, you should just run:

/scripts/exim4 --latest

to fix it.
