    Default Exim changes permanent

    Hi I was wondewring how can I make exim to make this change permanete, I need to change my servers sending ip address but everytime I update cpanel it resets it the line I need to make permanete is the interface line in exim.conf:

    remote_smtp:
    driver = smtp
    interface = 63.246.151.21

    Log into WHM, and select the Exim Configuration Editor, then click on Advanced Editor. Any changes you make in there will persist.

    I cannot do that since the line has to be beneath those two and they are not editable in the config editor.

    if you have root access, you may edit the /etc/exim.conf file and chattr +i of the file to prevent Cpanel from overwriting it.

    And what happends =if I want to change anything in exim.conf it won't let me either using shell or exim coonfiguration editor?

    question is whether the cpanel upgrade will fail if we do the chattr +i on exim.conf ?

    Cpanel will unchattr and rebuild exim.conf regardless.

    Yes I have read that thread and done that and no it does not work, the server will send the e-mails from the main IP.
