    Default Exim not starting

    I'm very inexperienced with Linux, so I need a lot of help. But I've Googled this issue for the past hour and tried numerous things, but I seriously cannot find a solution to my problem.

    Here's the error email that I get every five minutes:

    exim failed @ Mon Dec 21 11:46:45 2009. A restart was attempted automagically.

    The most common solution that came up while Googling was to delete the exim folder in /var/cpanel/serviceauth and restarting cPanel. That didn't work.

    Please try rebuilding your exim configuration

    Code:
    /scripts/buildeximconf
    and then restarting exim

    Code:
    /scripts/restartsrv exim

    Tried that, didn't work. It said exim started ok, but exim still shows as "failed" under Service Status, and I still get SMTP errors while trying to send emails. I'll open a ticket. Thanks for your help.

    EDIT: Now exim shows up as working, but I still can't send emails. I'm going to try some other stuff before submitting a ticket actually.
