In an effort to reduce the amount of spam on our system I'm trying to figure out just how the rbl's in exim work. Where do the rbl's come from? The /etc/rbl* files are all empty, should something be there? Does exim need some outgoing port (like 80?) to connect to somewhere to retrieve them?
And what about spam assassin's razor2, dcc, and pyzor? I have nearly all outgoing ports on our server blocked for security purposes. What do they need?
Thanks,
dale
