Default Exim & SMTP Auth (disallow some users?)

    Hi,

I have this problem and i have spent the last couple of days searching google and other sites to try and find an answer but each time i just end up getting no where or more confused than when i started.

The problem i have is we have setup a free e-mail site and the users get a free POP3/IMAP account but because of the way cPanel/WHM is setup i believe this also gives them access to the SMTP server.

Because of spammers i want to disallow access for these users but cant find anything on it. I'd either like to ban them per username or per domain name. Is there anyone here that can advise me on this?

    Thanks, Steven.

Is there any way to block SMTP access for non-existing user at all?

Becuase now it is possible to send email with wrong username/password but only using SMTP.

Is there any way to block this?
    Regards, Alexey

I've been trying to work out how to block users and had no luck yet so will keep looking.

    Thanks, Steven.

Just don't offer free email with out like using hivemail or something all mail is sent to it, then it gives the mail to who it was sent to. You can disallow outgoing mail

I was looking at doing something like that by using a PHP file to read new e-mails and store them into mySQL but wasnt sure on how to process the e-mails (html and so on).

I might take a closer look at it. Just POP3/IMAP sounded easier some times as its already got a load of functions in place.
