    Unhappy exim using 98.8% of mt server's cpu

    What can I do to prevent this?

    Top Process %CPU 98.9 /usr/lib/rpm/rpmq -q exim

    that's not exim itself... that's the rpm binary checking the version info of the exim rpm.

    It should show something like this:
    Code:
    exim-4.43-40_cpanel_smtpctl_av_rewrite_mm2_mmmtrap_exiscan_md5pass
    I'd guess that your rpm database may be corrupt... can you use up2date/yum, or does it freeze too?

    You should probably rebuild your rpm database... search to find out more info on doing that.
