    Default FAQ for Installation problems?

Hi, I cannot find any help on installation problems in the Forum or site.

I have followed the instructions for installing CPanel on a XEN:Server CentOS v5 - no error. I cannot get the 2087 port to respond. There are no IPTables.

    ? Help

    TIA Bill

    Default FAQ and help available

I have managed to set up a CPanel server under a CentrOS 5.4 VPS uising XEN:Enterprise I found enough help on the internet to muddle through. You don't have a trouble shooting guide to help.

To add to any you might set up I would like to add the below solution for the worst two problems I came accross:-

    1. When you talk about an initial minimised CentrOS server to install CPanel on you don't mention that it is best to load on Lamp before CPanel. It get around the customised vps server options that are built in.
    Using :-

yum install httpd php mysql-server mysql php-mysql

    2. Ensure that the Firewall iptables are cleared first with the following:-

    iptables -F
    service iptables save

Then use theConfigServer Security and Firewall script.

Nice control panel, so much easier than Plesk.

Actually, it's best not to have Apache, MySQL and PHP (The A, M and P in LAMP) installed before installing cPanel/WHM.

Did you review our installation instructions at Quick Start Installation Guide?
