I find no coincidence that overnight this happens to several servers (already 3 confirmed)
#1 /
/etc/ssh/ (all files here change permission automatically to 644 no matter how many times I revert the proper specific files to 600)
#2
root@host [/tmp]# ls -lh
/bin/ls: invalid option -- h
Try `/bin/ls --help' for more information.
#3
CPU/Memory/MySQL Usage is blank (no stats)
Clicking Show Current CPU Usage shows blank also
#4
Frontpage extensions not working
Attemp to fix FP:
uninstall ext
clean ext
reinstall ext
/scripts/initfrontpage
/scripts/setupfp5
Actual error:
Unable to open 'http://www.domain.org'
Server error:
Possible causes:
1. The web server may not have FrontPage Server Extensions installed.
2. The web server may be temporarily out of service.
3. If you are connecting through a proxy server, the proxy settings may be incorrect.
4. An error may have occurred in the web server.
If this server does not support the FrontPage Server Extensions, FrontPage may still be able to publish to the server via FTP or WebDAV. Please select one of these options and try again.
Overall Done the following:
upcp --force
service chkservd restart (numerous times)
recompile apache
restarted cpanel, exim, eximstats, named
server reboot
Using stable cpanel 10x (stable and release), centos 4.3 (php/mysql 4)
apf / bfd / lsm / les / sim /spri / prm
