Default File Manager Directory Creation Failure

We started have issues with some server and File manager in cpanel, when trying to create directories we get the following error.

Creation of /home/username/public_html failed because File exists

File or directory does not exist

    Any ideas anyone

Checked this on 9 servers all have the same issue.

Have you checked via SSH, whether yo can create the folder.

Else, may be the cause, if it is created, may be it is owned by someone else....

I do not know all this technical stuff, but maybe you have told the server that /www/ is the website directory... not public_html/

Because that has happened to me before.

If it's working on other releases and not the latest EDGE (it's currently EDGE 167 according to layer2) then I'd suggest logging a ticket through your cPanel license provider and/or logging it in bugzilla.

    Thumbs down

I don't have a Bugzilla account but I suggest someone post a bug ticket ASAP!

I have successfully duplicated Jackal's problem on several of our own servers.
Immediately upon upgrading to 10.8.1-E162 or E167, the file manager will no
longer create new folders in any account and erroneously reports that the
folders already exist when they do not.

All file and directory permissions in each of the accounts are perfectly fine.

FTP and SSH can create folders just fine.

It is only the file manager in Cpanel that has a problem and it would
appear that it is some sort of reversed logic problem given it is apparently
checking to see if the file or folder exists prior to creation and rejecting
the action IF IT DOESN'T EXIST instead of if it does exist! OOPS!

Just create yourself an accout in bugzilla and if you can recreate the problem with ease, log a ticket with cPanel through your license provider.

I posted a bugzilla about this a few days ago and cPanel said it will be fixed in the next edge build.

    <<BUMP>>

It's been another week and Cpanel STILL has not made any new releases yet ....

Anyone have any updated info for the problem?

Any idea when Cpanel is going to get moving on that new Edge?
