File Manager Editor not saving files

Hi, all. I figure I should point out a few things first.

1) I have searched for an answer to this.
2) I already found the 'editors inserting arbitrary characters' threads.
3) They don't appear to be the same issue...

Basically, I've got a customer telling me that whenever he tries to edit, then save his index.html file (located in /public_html) with the editor (not HTML editor, the regular one), it only saves half of the file. Or it saves a completely blank file. Really weird. I haven't been able to duplicate it, but he says it's still happening to him. If it matters, I was running the STABLE release and then switched to EDGE hoping there was a chance that it would fix it. He's kinda unhappy now because we just switched servers, and he claims that it worked OK on the other ones.

Oh yeah... he says it only happens with that particular file. It's OK for everything else.
