Thanks David. Yes, please nudge them very hard on this one, a.s.a.p.
Yes, we've got some hosted customers (that control around 1000 accounts) threatening to revolt, as they are getting plenty of nuisance spam in their forms. Some even claim that it is hurting them economically. We've got to supply them with a solution via a server-wide implemention of some sort of capatcha for their forms NOW, YESTERDAY, LAST MONTH! And thanks but the recaptcha thing will not work for them, as there are some e-commerce forms there which they would not trust to be remotely handled as recaptcha does. As a personal note: I am surprised to see that cPanel is far-and-away behind the curve on this one. Today as most know, no on-line form should be without some sort of authentication to waylay the avalanche of spam-bots out there. |

Hi Scott,
Yes if you could please do this. I'm swamped right now trying to develop a custom captch routine here, and frankly I've never done the feature request thing, so I really don't know how. Perhaps if you could please post back with the request number and how we could vote? |

Bugzilla (Feature Request) has been added:
http://bugzilla.cpanel.net/show_bug.cgi?id=6530 You have 5 votes that you can use for up to 5 different bug/feature requests. If you would like cPanel to look into adding Captcha functionality to the existing formmailer, or add a new one, then place a vote. - Scott |
