    Default forward email to default/main pop account for domain

    Hello,

    To explain my question -- each domain (user) has a 'main' mail account. In WHM it shows up basically as a dot -> username. My friend had a catchall setup, so naturally all mail went into this account. Unfortunately, he started getting a huge amount of spam sent to random@hisdomain... so I wanted to turn off the catch-all and set certain emails to forward to that main account under forwarders.
    I can't seem to do this though! I've tried setting up a forward, something like

    something@domain -> useraccount
    and it doesn't add it
    something@domain -> useraccount@domain.com
    bounces.

    What is the 'address' of the main account that I would enter? My temp solution was creating a second pop account, useraccount@domain.com, and having mail forwarded to that pop account, but I'd like to use the main pop if possible.

    Thanks

    Dear amusive,

    As CPanel uses forwarders, I think the only way you\'re going to be able to recieve mail for specific addresses is to create that email account and then forward it. CPanel doesn\'t allow for aliases, which would be pseudo-accounts that don\'t actually exist.

    If you take a look at:

    http://www.cpanel.net/docs/cp/Forwarders.htm

    you will see that they refer specifically to accounts, rather than aliases.

    This in not true. You can have forwarders without corresponding POP accounts.
