Forwarding A Copy of Incoming Mail to Another Account

Is there a way to forward a copy of incoming mail for a particular account to another account? For example, I want to foward mail sent to user1@domain.com to user2@domain.com, but also keep a copy in user1's mailbox.

as long as user1 is a pop account then just set up a forwarder in cpanel as per normal, email will land in the account as per usual and a copy will be forwarded to the other account you specify.

Do you know if that happens post Spam Assasin? Don't want to forward all of that junk to them too!

Spam Assasin only checks the mail as it is being delivered into the POP account on the server, the forwarder happens first.

If it's on the same server then the email will be checked as it is delivered into both Inboxes if the forwarder is external then it only checks locally. All forwarded mails just get sent.

If you are forwarding to an AOL account and you forward lots of spam emails this could get you blacklisted for spamming as the message appears to come from your server even though it originated elsewhere. The forwarded email will have headers identifying your server as the sender.

Darn, that's a drag. Anyone know a way round this?

Use a spam filter that checks mail before it gets to the mail server... (so it acts like a proxy, and proxies the good mail connections to the mailserver and drops the bad ones). I use ASSP - http://assp.sourceforge.net

Or... don't forward email to places like AOL.com, etc.
