    Default Forwarding and deleting mail

    Hi

How do you setup mail forwarding for an email account and at the same time delete mail? When I setup forwarding in Cpanel, a copy remains on the original account.

Are you setting up an existing mail account to forward, or setting it up directly as a 'forwarder'?

You have to remove the original mailbox account. If you have a mailbox and a forwarder exim will deliver to both.

I want to forward the default account. In other words, all domain email to another address without leaving a copy on the server.

Do I understand that I delete the account's default email address?

    TIA

No, the main account is a special case where you can create a forward for it and it shouldn't deliver to the main account.

    Default Forwarding & Deleting Mail

I also want to forward email to another account. However, I occasionally need to send mail from this account through Outlook Express. If I delete the original mailbox account I will not be able to send mail through this account. Correct? Is there any way to have it all?

    Thanks,
    Jack

I would like to know how to do this also, meaning I would like to be able to forward email from a POP account to another one but NOT have it also leave a copy of the forwarded email in the POP account. and no, I don't want someone saying to delete the mailbox. In my case, that isn't an option because this account like above, is used sometimes to send email. Also, this account has webmail options such as address book and existing email that can't just be lost because of a temporary forward.
