there is no branch -STABLE anymore, only

6.4-RELEASE
7.1-RELEASE
7.2-RELEASE

as for now 7.2 works greatly ( until freebsd cleared branch 7.0-STABLE )
so now its almost imposible to install cpanel on freebsd without manualy adding bunch of soft

is there any workaround to change destination path to uname and not 7.0-STABLE ?
will you correct installer and upcp ?

We are working on a long-term solution to these issues on FreeBSD. I have no ETA on when our new solution to this issue will become available. Internal Case 31773

For most administrators, we recommend the cPanel RELEASE build. Hence it is the default build to be installed.

STABLE is a bit more conservative in terms of software updates in favor of proven software reliability. As a result, STABLE releases are relatively rare but involve significant leaps as far as software updates go. This lack of gradual but frequent software updates can cause complications for some. However, if you prefer running proven software at the expense of not offering the latest functionality of cPanel, this is the build for you.

CURRENT has newer functionality than RELEASE but the software is not as thoroughly tested as it is on the RELEASE build. I recommend CURRENT to system administrators that prefer to be among the first to offer new cPanel functionality to their customers and don't mind making frequent minor adjustments to their server to compensate for the newness of such functionality.

RELEASE balances reliability with new functionality. Also, its software updates are not very frequent, but sufficiently frequent to avoid "making a large leap" with regards to updates to the software cPanel/WHM relies upon.


In any case, cPanel/WHM on FreeBSD is only recommended for system administrators familiar with FreeBSD. This is discussed in detail at: Quick Start Installation Guide

My question was specifically about FreeBSD 7, 64 bit. Looks like cpanel doesn't support it at all?
