Unhappy fresh install won't show default apache page

I just completed the installation of 3 new servers (centos 5.4 i386 with cPanel). But all of them showing this error message when default page (ie. http://servers.ip/) is accessed:

Template Error: The template file must be given
About 5 (or more) times of "/scripts/upcp --force" didn't do me any good. Can someone give me any clue? If some configs needed, I'll try to post them here.

    Thank you.

i'm having similar problems.I cant open any domain or login to any account on my server. I'm getting redirected to http://domain.com/cgi-sys/defaultwebpage.cgi

Tech support said that there is a bug report on this already and has been corrected in EDGE tree but no eta for release. I'm confused now, i cant do nothing on my server. After 5 clean installs of the OS and cPanel the prob is still there.

Let's wait for about a day, perhaps. I just hope this bug won't affect other, previously smoothly installed, servers.

Or, maybe, turning off the update crontab for some time will be wise enough.

Well, this definitely looks like some kind of a bug. Did you see any errors while cPanel installation? If not, contact cPanel support asap.

So that I may check on the specific details for you and determine if there is an available status update I will need the ticket number in which the issue was reported for your server.

I apologize as I missed the PM at first, but I verified it was received and investigated. I do not yet have an ETA available for when the specific update will move from EDGE to other build trees such as CURRENT and RELEASE. When it is published in the other build trees our official change log will include entries where applicable; I recommend referring to the following two sites for checking the status of new builds and also the change log of new builds:
    http://httpupdate.cpanel.net/#builds
    http://changelog.cpanel.net/

    Reference internal case ID: #35815

The last log for CURRENT build is 2009-12-23, and this thread started at 2009-12-24. I'm in a real bad luck. Trying to upcp everyday for nothing.

Default New cPanel 11.25.0 Installation Apache configuration syntax errors

The release of 11.25.0-RELEASE_42399 and 11.25.0-CURRENT_42399 introduced a configuration issue that may cause Apache configuration syntax errors on servers with no accounts when the mod_userdir tweak is enabled. The condition will present itself upon addition of the first account to the server. This issue is quickly addressed by rebuilding the Apache configuration file.

    Symptoms:
The following error can be seen in the cpanel error_log and when attempting to restart Apache:

UserDir "enable" keyword requires a list of usernames

Newly created websites would be sent to defaultwebpage.cgi instead of the
    appropriate document root.

    Resolutions:
    1) New builds, 11.25.0-CURRENT_42400 and 11.25.0-RELEASE_42400, have been published to address the issue. This issue will not be present on subsequent new installations. Upgrading a currently affected system will resolve this issue.

    2) Rebuilding the Apache configuration after the addition of the first account will permanently resolve this issue.

    From the command line:
    /scripts/rebuildhttpdconf
    /scripts/restartsrv_httpd

    or

    /scripts/autorepair userdir_enable_fix
    /scripts/restartsrv_httpd

    From the WHM:
Service Configuration -> Apache Configuration -> Global Configuration -> Save -> Rebuild Configuration and Restart Apache

    Note:
The Apache configuration may be rebuilt as a result of other changes made in the WHM. Your new installation may not experience this issue as a result the the Apache configuration being rebuilt automatically.

Is it a new, fresh installation of cPanel? What is the full cPanel version and build number?

The original issue that was reported in this thread was confirmed to be fixed in all builds.

Do you happen to have a ticket ID number that I may use to locate the details of your issue?
