    Exclamation

This is a new problem and very seriously affecting my clients too.
    the old faithful
    /scripts/unsetupfp4 domain.com
    /scripts/setupfp5 domain.com
Does no good, neither does any function in WHM or in cPanel.
I can't believe the cPanel folks aren't on this one, it mentions both an Apache patch and outdated FrontPage extensions, for me this just started with last night's release update.
    HELP please....

Frontpage is officially DEAD and is no longer manufactured or supported.

In addition there is no longer any bug fixes or security updates
being released for Frontpage or Frontpage Extensions and all software
considered prerequisite for Frontpage non longer is required to
remain compliant so you will see more and more incompatibilities
emerging rendering the final extensions release further inoperable.

Bottom line is that it would be a good idea if you discontinue support
for Frontpage and remove the option from your customers as they
were actually supposed to stop using it by last December anyway.

I am personally affiliated directly with 72 hosts and indirectly with
more than 800 hosts and all of us have already long since
discontinued support for Frontpage Extensions and what few other
hosts are still out there using Frontpage should probably consider
doing the same for reasons of both stability and security.

On other news, Microsoft has released a new product to replace
Frontpage that works primarily off of WebDAV instead of utilizing
the former proprietary extensions of it's predecessor.

FrontPage is not officially dead. Thousands of people continue to use it, it is still for sale on amazon and many other places and continues to be supported by Microsoft. (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/fr...647001033.aspx)

This is a problem with the existing extension package in cPanel and needs to be remedied for the thousands of hosting companies still offering the extensions.

    from cpanel...

I have repaired this, it appears that your /usr/local/frontpage/version5.0/apache-fp/_vti_bin/fpexe binary was set to immutable, I have gone ahead and removed this flag, then reinstalled your frontpage binaries. I can connect fine to the site in question, please let me know if there are any more issues with frontpage on this server.

Sorry, but Front Page is officially dead. In my MS news letter a few months ago, MS announced that FP has now been replaced and FP is no longer supported. The replacement is MS Expression Web. If your customer has FP on their PC, they can get the MS Expression Web upgrade for $99 at best buy, Comp USA and so forth. It looks almost identical to FP on the PC, but it does much more. I would say it is actually comparable to Dream Weaver feature abilities now, so expect DW to come out with a new version soon.

The new MS Expression Web uses a built in FTP engine to move files back and forth and you do not need server side software.

About half of my customers have been having problems with FP and my server. I don't know why some do and others do not, but am guessing it has to do with updates from MS for their PCs.

    Hopes this helps.
