Front Page and Perl

We are having a problem installing Front Page extensions today. This just started and was working fine previously.
When the extnsions are installed on a domain it reports the following:

Perl 5.006 required--this is only version 5.00503, stopped at /scripts/setupfp4 line 8.

I tried installing the Latest Perl 5.6.1 installer and it fails to upgrade.

Any help is appreciated.

First off, if you are using setupfp4, that means you have frontpage 2000 server extensions... (version 4)

Don't you have FrontPage server extensions 2002 (version 5?)
In that case you'll need to use /scripts/setupfp5

Check your apache build or check /usr/local/frontpage/current_version...........

We appear to have version 5.0. When I run /scripts/setupfp5 it returns:

What exactly happens when you try to run the perl 5.6.1 installer?

I have tried the script /scripts/cleanmd5, but it shows the following error.

I have also tried 'i Digest::MD5' from cpan shell, but its not getting installed. The WHM shows the following error on 'Creating new accounts'.
