    Unhappy FTP access problem

    I dont even know if this is the correct section or even the correct forum to ask this.. I use cpanel and people are able to view my folders on my ftp simply by typing in.. lets say "/images" after my domain name and they view the entire folder.. I dont know how to put an end to this..can someone help?

    In cPanel look for the menu item:
    Site Management click on Index Manager
    Then follow the instructions in this feature.

    Or put a blank index.html in any directory/folder you don't wish to be indexed from the Internet.
    /images/index.html

    Blank index.html =
    <html>
    <head>
    <title>Private Folder</title>
    </head>
    <body>This is a private directory!
    </body>
    </html>

    Wow I feel silly.. Thanks for the help.. I didn't realize it was that simple.. I guess sometimes when you assume something is more difficult than it really is, then you cant see how simple it is really.. Thank you very very much.. No one will be snooping around now! Thanks a lot.

    Glad it helped.

    Now if you really want to be smart you could redirect those directory snoops to your main home page by adding this to the above html after the </title> tag and before the </head> tag.
    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://yourdomain.com/index.html">
    Just change yourdomain.com to, guess what and index.html to your home page file name. It might be index.php or index.htm or default.html etc.
    Have a good one!
