How would I set up a user to log him, via FTP, to directory below public_html, let;s say /home/username/directory.

It is impossible. You cannnot create a folder outside the public_html folder.

Yes, it is possible. I just had to edit the FTP file for the user to change his login folder path.

does that mean you were able to have a second user login below /public_html? if so, how did you do this? i only have a user account, so i have no direct access to the cPanel config files.Originally posted by cretu

If you mean that you do not have "root" priviledges to the box, then it would be impossible.

any clue if cPanel will remove this "feature"
i want to keep my .tpl files outside public domain. i don't mind if /public_html/ is the default directory, but at least let us choose any dir in OUR user home

any word if cPanel will remove this limitation? it seems pretty ridiculous not allowing us to specify where we want to add sub-ftp accounts.
