FTP Login Problem with sub account

Hi

I'm sure this must be a confiuration issue of some sort, as i have ahd it on two servers. But the problem is basically.

I can ftp into the server using the main ftp account on the account itself.

But if in cpanel i setup a new ftp account with a user and password it fails to authenticate.

so if setup user1@cpanel.net with password xyz it fails to login

I have used user1, user1@cpanel.net

Like i said no problem if i use the main account ftp detials. I have also synced passwords an restarted ftp services.

Not sure what the casue is but could really do with this so can limit a user to a praticual directory and not the whole public_html directory.

I can verify this problem. It appears that CPanel is not creating the new user account though it does create the new directory.

It works properly on our test servers. Please open a support ticket so we can determine what is causing this issue on your server.

Aside:

Medford...haven't been there in years. Used to live across the state line, in the Yreka, CA area. How's the fog?

My server was setting up user fine just not allowing login. Anyway as a security thing i disabled Anonymous FTP in ftp configuration in WHM

And guess what i can login in using the sub accounts abit wierd but anyway i'm happy with having Anonymous FTP off so it's solved for me.
