    Default FTP Password Failed

    I have just created a basic account and have chosen a UserName and PassWord. Upon creation I emailed the "New Acount Info" to myself and have even copied and pasted the information into CoreFTP. When CoreFTP tries to login, it appears the UserName is okay, but the password failed.

    USER XXXXX
    331 User XXXXX OK. Password required
    PASS **********
    530 Login authentication failed

    Any ideas?

    Make sure you are using the complete information to access the FTP account as below.

    host = domainname.com OR IP address
    Username=user@domainname.com (Don't forget @domainname.com)
    password=your password that you use to access the settings for the specific site/user.
    port=21

    If you are using domain name in the Host field , confirm that the domain is resolving properly from the correct IP.

    You shouldn't need @domain.com if its the root user for the account.

    You really don't want to copy paste passwords either unless you're very sure there are no spaces on either end.

    Does the same password work to login to cPanel itself? If yes, you copy/pasted badly.
