    Question ftp port 21 problem

We are facing problem for ftp port 21 connection.
We can not connect to ftp server using port 21.

We have stopped iptables and apf, but still can not connect to port 21.
We have telnet port 21 at server side, no problem at all.

Then we change the ftp port to 20 and working fine.

    Anyone facing this problem?
Do you know what else server program that blocking port 21?

Do you have both 20 and 21 open at the firewall? FTP uses both.

    Hi Humayun ,

Please read the full page and then ask the question as it is written ther that the ports are open, means the entries are added in apf and iptables.
what i mean is that there may be some rules within the apf and iptables which restricts the ftp connection to be made on ftp port 21.
    i hope you understood
