Ftp port change

I Want to change default ftp port from 21 to another port.

I am using pureftpd service.

How do i change it?

Once the port is changed, make sure to allow the new port in the firewall you have.

Change the Ftp port and enable it in the CSF firewall but the firewall configuration file will defer depending on the firewall you have installed.

Well, the steps to change the Pure-Ftp port is already mentioned in the URL I and "serlex" have given. If you are still unable to get it sorted, it is clear that you are doing something incorrect. I would have contacted the Hosting provider OR a Server Management company to get it sorted.

It is not possible to provide an exact solution without taking a look at the server? BTW, if you have changed the port of your Ftp server, can you provide the result of the following 2 commands:

telnet yourserverip 21

telnet yourserverip newftpport

and what is the output of

/etc/init.d/pure-ftpd restart
