FTP Problems, hangs

Hi,

I am getting reports of problems with Pro FTP on a CPanel/Redhat 9 setup here is the problem

Log into FTP in to the root of the account (/) and on some accounts when tryign to access /public_html it hangs on load up the Directory and File list, also taking 99.8% cpu power and putting up the load, when the client log off of ftp it does not close that process.

Any ideas ?
