Default FTP Timeout customization no longer works.

Way back in Dec/Jan I made changes to the   /etc/proftpd.conf   file and customized the Timeout -- default is 300 seconds. Never had any problems with it until today when I upgraded to

    WHM 7.4.2 cPanel 7.4.2-E86
    RedHat 7.3

A quick check on the above file showed it was changed at exactly the same time I did the above update.

Checking the file showed the same entries as before:

    DefaultRoot ~ !wheel
    TimeoutLogin 1200
    TimeoutIdle 1200
    TimeoutNoTransfer 1200

And yet the Timeout has gone back to the default 300 seconds. A restart of FTPd through WHM made no difference. Stopping in Shell, for about a minute, and restarting did not change anything either.

Anyone else experience this and/or know why the customized Timeout is no longer being used?

Note: I did notice that   /etc/proftpd.conf   now contains double entries for every account:

    UseFtpUsers on
    RequireValidShell off
    UseFtpUsers on
    RequireValidShell off

Probably not related, but I'm presuming it does show DarkOrb made a mistake in updates to FTPPro files and that could mean a mistake somewhere else as well.

No trouble ticket submitted yet as I first wanted to see, if this is a "only happening to me" situation.

    maybe my problem is related.
one of my resellers added a new domain. workd fine by ip adress via http but can't log into the new domain via ftp.
anybody has the same issue or knows what might be wrong?

the new domain doesn't yet resolve to name but one should still be able to log in via ftp using the IP adress correct?

I am stumped and I have put in a ticket, but today is sunday...oh I got a headache....
    thanks for any help !
    Tom

Is no one else having this Timeout problem? Is it really just me this happening to?

I had timeout problems and cpu resource useage problems on some servers with the latest proftpd 1.2.8 build. I abandoned it and installed pure-ftpd.

This seems to be happening again.

Have a mountain of customers all complainig about FTP timing out. My settings say 900 seconds, but it's out in 300 seconds.

They are also mentioning a 10 second wait whilst logging in.

I can't see any where in proftpd.conf to increase this as it already is.

In httpd.conf I've got everything at 900 seconds as well.

    What did CPanel do?

I'm running WHM 8.5.1 cPanel 8.5.3-S3 and it appears to have happened since this one.

Anyone find a hidden conf files anywhere ?
