    Unhappy full backup restore error

hello, i am running cpanel version 1.0 rc2 liscenced by unidenhosting.co.uk

anyway, i am trying to upload a full backup i downloaded from my old host in order to move my site, and since i didnt see a "restore full backup" option, i used the "restore home backup" option.
what that basically does is just upload the full backup to root directory, and extract it. sometimes it doesnt extract it, but just now it worked, and it extracted everything to a dir called
    backup-1.4.2005_12-16-45_cphere

with stuff in it called homedir, etc.

i tried everything, but nothing seemed to work...
i may seem like a noob, and well, i am, in cpanel, having used it for only a few weeks...
    so, HELP!

If you have generated a full backup on the old server, upload it to the new server, outside of public_html and have the sysadmin restore it for you from there.

Default simple backup and restore - simple?

I am a reseller. I do not have access to the root.
    I am using these versions:
    WHM 9.9.9 cPanel 9.9.9-S15
    Fedora i686 - WHM X v3.1.0

I would like to do a backup
    and then a restore.
I would simply like to be able to do this without
the sys admin of my service having to intervene.

    scenario #1
Lets say if some files change, or get deleted
for whatever reason - a jpg is deleted
I have a backup of this file...

Through backup -restore- can I get the site back
    as it was backed-up

    scenario #2
my mysql - or other database is messed up - and/or hacked
I would like to restore it- preferably a full restore
    including jpg files

note: time is not a factor - these are small sites.

...but before I "grow" I would like to know how this is done.

The docs (faq's) show how to backup, but not retore
The older threads say this isn't possible in cpanel
but seem to refer to an older version.

The version I use have these options:
    Restore a Home Backup
    Restore an SQL DB
    Restore an Alias/Filter Backup

    so unless I missed something...
    It is possible. ?

    Thank you!
    ...for any assistance
