Thumbs up Gentoo and Cpanel - Excellent Progress!

I would like to express my gratitude to the cpanel developers for thier hard work with ensuring gentoo support. One of my collegues from gentoo informed me today that he had successfully installed cpanel on gentoo linux utilizing a new script in the demo version! Good job! I'll post more here as i test it for myself and discover more about it. I'll also host a running demo asap.
Greetings from the gentoo userbase and horah to cpanel

-:edit:- the cpanel/gentoo installer uses emerge to compile allmost or the entire works from what i've been informed

you have got to be kidding.

is this a late april 1'st joke??

i, like others, have been contacted by cpanel a while ago and have been asked to help testing cpanel+gentoo. i even had a test server made for this.

cpanel said the current installer won't work on gentoo, so i kinda stoped there

then someone from cpanel staff said he'll add my email address to some mailing list related to this.

but i didn't get any mail.

i don't even know the list name, or other details. anyay, if this is true, is there a mailing list, where i can register and provide some help if needed?

PS. All my Fedoras and CentOSes are borking under heavy load. I need some gentoo freshness

In fact that URL was ok and it was WHM with system info listed.
Just generic 'uname -a' on a Gentoo system.

You didn't lose anything with 404 of the page

The actual news are: Gentoo "pre-alpha" support will be added to the main install scripts in a few nearest days

Latest installer is not working on Gentoo - it loops with multiple "Gentoo detected!" and doesn't go further.

Oh, and BTW, Gentoo support will "officially" be Beta once a new Release build is finished.

could we know what does "new Release build" mean? Will it be 10.7.0 or 10.6.1 or 10.6.0-RELEASE_159 or something else?

    Great thanks for your time!

hm, not sure what you mean... there was no recent posts from Ben, and there is no "official gentoo support" even after next release was out...

Waiting for your reply, Ben! Pleeeeease!
