    Default Getting OFF Edge

Due to the recent maildir fun I find myself running edge on a few boxes.
Normally I run release and would like to get back to that.

I'm running 10.8.0-E63 and I'd like to get back to the release tree and of
course I'd like the release build to be newer than the edge that I'm currently running.

The changelog seems out of date and I've never been able to get my head around
the system cpanel uses for this.

If I see an R64 is that newer than an E63?

No, R is release, so it's older than E, what stands for Egde.

    S stands for stable.

    Is you got E1
    R2
    S4

then S4 is the oldest because it's the latest stable, R2 comes next because it's a release and the Edge is always the newest.

I know what the names of the build categories are but what I'm asking is how can
I know when a release build is newer than the edge build that I'm running.

I want to stay on E63 and wait for a release build that is newer that that so I can go back to the release tree with (hopefully) no problems.

    E67 -> C68 -> and probably R69... that's how it works.

So if I'm on E63... just wait until around R66 comes along and switch?

Normally I'd just do it - but users on those boxes are already cranky from the maildir conversion that got me on the edge tree in the first place.

If the RELEASE tree version is higher that your EDGE version then you can switch to RELEASE.
