    Default Global FTP accounts

    Greetings,

I have a unique problem/situation that I can't quite figure out how to get around. So I'm coming here for a little brainstorming.

I'm part of a webhosting company - that also offers web development services. So we have devs and Designers that need access to the websites we host. However - for security purposes I'd rather not give out the cpanel user/pass to the devs. I'd rather just have one central login for the dev/designer and just be able to give and take perms to websites on a per need basis.

I know you can create virtual ftp accounts from within a user's cpanel interface, My personal preference would rather not have to login to the individual cpanels and create the virtual account dev@domain.com repeatedly.

any ideas on how to accomplish this?

Default Multiple FTP Accounts & One Password

    Hi Guyz,
I have a similar problem... We have a dedicated WHM server with CPanel across all hosted sites and two admins that would like to have one username and password across the board.... is this possible? If Yes, please be specific as we are new to WHM and server scripts.

Yes, you can do this by giving them reseller accounts. To create a reseller account, simply go to WHM and in the "Resellers" section click on "Reseller Center." Then, select a cPanel account under "Add Reseller Privileges." You will be prompted for which privileges you wish to grant them. You can then assign other accounts to be "owned" by this reseller account, so the reseller can login to any of those accounts by simply entering their username and password then selecting the appropriate domain from a drop-down box in the cPanel interface.

To change which reseller owns an account, select that reseller on the bottom portion of the "Reseller Center" then click "Change Ownership of Multiple Accounts." Here, you can select which accounts on the server should be owned by that reseller.
