    Default Having Problem with Encoding

Even though I usually use FileZilla FTP to make major changes, sometimes I use c-panel file manager to make quick changes to my phpBB3 board. Since yesterday when I right click on file and choose Code Edit, the encoding is going straight to ansi_x3.110-1983 instead of us-ascii
I have messed up a few files that I saved before I realized what was going on.

I have change the File Manager settings on my Cpanel where it says preference - Disable Character Encoding Verification Dialogs but it wont remember it.

I don't want to keep opening my files twice to get the correct encoding (once it opens in ansi_x3.110-1983, I use the drop-down box to choose the correct encoding and then click open again). That is just tiresome!

Question Re: Having Problem with Encoding

Have you tried clearing your cache and restarting browser, or another browser all together, to see if this is browser or cPanel itself?

Can you tell me the exact version of cPanel?

Are you the Server Administrator, if not have you asked them about this?

It's through my host StableHost. I have a shared server account. We are using cpanel version 11.28.60

I should be able to set up my file encoding without their involvement. This just started happening yesterday and StableHost just told me they changed nothing. It's just that the encoding is going to the 1st option when I Edit Code and before yesterday it use to go the my set encoding option. I can't remember the steps I took to set it up since it's been a while.

You might want to ask your host to put in a ticket to cPanel support about this so they can have a closer look.
