its some type of DNS issue.

search for 'hosts' (generaly located here:
    WINDOWS_INSTALL_DIR\system32\drivers\etc)

open 'hosts' file in a text editor and look for google.com entry.

il copy and paste it here:

    # Copyright (c) 1993-1999 Microsoft Corp.
    #
    # This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.
    #
    # This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each
    # entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should
    # be placed in the first column followed by the corresponding host name.
    # The IP address and the host name should be separated by at least one
    # space.
    #
    # Additionally, comments (such as these) may be inserted on individual
    # lines or following the machine name denoted by a '#' symbol.
    #
    # For example:
    #
    # 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
    # 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host

    127.0.0.1 localhost

    that looks right.

perhaps your DNS server is having problems? try using a new DNS server.

That may be but if the DNS server your surfing machine uses to resolve sites is infected, and it's pointing google.com to cpanel.net then what you have is a infected dns machine you resolve off of.

    that is also not correct..

I tested this from two browsers.. one is using my local connection and the other one is through a external proxy located at some other country.

Also, as you said, if the IP were confused, then why is it not showing the whole page of cpanel there ?. the links on the page is like this.

    google.com/cpanel and google.com/whm

    what about this.

could you post the DNS servers you are using here? when you ping google.com do you get the wrong IP ?

    do a:

    dig google.com

    does the IP look correct?

I think this thing is very wide spread now. I am getting all kinds of reports of it.
