Help with spammers

Well I have a few spammers on my server I am trying to locate they try to do it on off hours so I wont notice the huge load increate however .. I have, it seems they have been using PHP scripts to spam, I am trying to locate them however it is very hard. Can anyone give me any suggestion on how to get them I havent removed my Mail Queue which contains about 2k from todays spam raid, when I look into the e-mails to find what address they are sending from it gives me a gmail address, I appriecate any help.
