The first thing would to optimize your my.cnf so it can handle quicker and better. Another big thing is that you only have 512mb memory and you need to upgrade it.

    Hi:

    1) I have tested each configuration possible in my.cnf... I have tested about 30 possibilities... i do not know what is the optimum one...

    2) I refer to processes that eat a lot of CPU... i mean... is there any way to set in the system that NO process can grow so much ?

If this is not a long term issue and has only started in the last week, REBOOT

will clear up a lot of old processes which appear to be getting locked on.

Clearly the biggest problem that you have is memory thrashing. Your swap file use is simply too high and the server is in desperate need of another 512MB of RAM. It's either that, or remove apps/processes that you do not need, or move some users off of the server to another one. Inevitably, there are only finite resources and the server as configured is in excess of them.

Rebooting is not necessary at all - that's a Windows response, Linux simply doesn't need it, unless you're installing a new kernel.
